Saris H3: Common Issues
What goes wrong with the Saris H3 Direct Drive Turbo Trainer?
1. Top Hat Issue
Overtightening of the axle end caps can cause the top hat spacer to snap and crumble (like the image below).
The top hat sits behind the Freehub. There is no torque spec for the end cap. It should be hand tightened. If your top hat has snapped/crumbled then this can be replaced, we stock these to sell - link here
2. Belt needs cleaning or replacing
After time you may find that the belt needs replacing or cleaning.
If you have a Saris H3, then you will have a smooth belt. The Saris product code is: SAR9734T. Please see link below
3. Power Supply Issue
A common issue with the H3 is the status light on the unit is not coming on when plugged in even when the plug indicator showing green. This issue is usually caused by a faulty power supply.
